black box recycling scheme

You may have wondered, as I did, how the contents of the recently introduced Black Box recycling scheme are separate. Are we supposed to place everything in one box? The official answer is given below and here is a link to the Monmouth Community Recycling Website:

Official answer:

"We are very keen for householders to separate items into each of the main categories - paper, glass, cans/foil and textiles - within the box itself by putting each material in full separate untied carrier bags.  The trucks have containers for each of these main categories and the collection crew sort the boxes by hand directly into these containers. This ensures we can recycle everything we pick up - the collection crews appreciate anything that makes the system work more efficiently.  The only further sorting is a manual/ magnetic process for cans and foil back at the depot."
