ryder cup tee-off

Update 6th Oct 2010: As history will record, after a very damp day or two, the 2010 Ryder cup was won by the Europeans in a thrilling match at the Celtic Manor Resort.

What history is unlikely to dwell upon is the fact that about 50 people gathered in the Church Room to consume wine with a ploughmans supper and listen to a brief presentation on the Ryder cup, do a quiz and play Wii golf - on the Ryder cup course itself, of course.

A very enjoyable evening with £700 raised for the Church Extension fund.

There will be a brief introduction to the Ryder cup event itself which will be underway at the Celtic Manor resort just down the road featuring some of the world’s greatest golfers. We will review the ‘runners & riders’.

Optionally take part in a knock out completion played over several holes of the Ryder cup Celtic Manor course itself - with the Wii projected on the big screen so everyone can see your attempt and (in)appropriate commentary!

Join in the ‘golf slanted’ general knowledge quiz which won’t really require much golf knowledge.

It is sure to be a fun filled evening.

Tickets: £10 per person (£8 for Friends of the Church)

Your ticket includes a fabulous ploughmans meal. There will be a pay bar.

Time: Doors open @ 7:30pm; Food at 8:00pm; Close @ about 10:30pm.
