The latest on 18th December 2004:

The planning committee visited the site on Monday 13th December.

Amid some confusion the application went to committee on Tuesday 14th December and was passed with some items reserved. This means that the overall battle is effectively lost and Monmouth CC will rule on the reserved items without any further consultation.

The confusion referred to above is the fact that Graham Down (our County Councellor) had agreed a deferral with Monmouth CC and thus many people (including village activists) understood the application would not be heard on Tuesday 14th December but that it would be deferred until January '05. However, suddenly there wasn't a deferral and the application was heard and passed!

Village activists were working 'behind the scenes' with Graham Down to try and procure a better outcome for the village. It is unfortunate that there was not more communication and co-operation between the various groups in the village.
